How did I get here?
You see, I grew up with a single mom who worked tirelessly to give my brother and me every opportunity. She taught me the value of hard work, but also the importance of compassion and empathy. I saw firsthand the toll that relentless striving can take on a person.
Then, there was my dad. He was a talented artist, but he struggled with mental health issues. I watched him fall through the cracks of a system that wasn't designed to support him.
These experiences shaped my passion for helping others. I became a physiotherapist, driven by a desire to heal and empower. But I was so focused on helping others that I forgot to take care of myself.
A bad system will beat a good person
I was the ultimate "good person" in a broken system. I was a statistic of the very thing I was trying to change.
One dreary winter morning, I woke up in a state of complete burnout. I couldn't even get out of bed. It was a wake-up call.
That's when I started asking the right questions.
I'm not angry, this pain led me to purpose. To create the thing I was missing and was never taught as a child, in school, in higher education and even in continuing education at all those health conferences and summits.
The call to curiosity and adventure "The seeker"
I traveled the world, exploring ancient wisdom and cutting-edge science. I wore elephant pants in Bali (yes, really), danced ecstatically, and sat in silence for days. I learned about the power of nature, the importance of connection, and the transformative power of the mind.
I realized that true health wasn't about fixing what was broken, but nourishing what was whole.
The SelfCare Revolution began within myself first
This realization became the foundation of my SelfCare philosophy. It's not about quick fixes or fad diets. It's about a holistic approach to well-being that addresses every aspect of your being.
I wrote the SelfCare book to share what I learned. It's a roadmap to a life of vibrant health, unshakeable confidence, and limitless energy.
